Description
Elizabeth Alyse Cuthbert AC, MBE, was an Australian athlete and a four-time Olympic champion. She was nicknamed Australia’s “Golden Girl”. During her career, she set world records for 60 metres, 100 yards, 200 metres, 220 yards and 440 yards.
These are unused running shoes that were signed by Betty in her later years. Based on the years we were going to charity auctions, they would have been signed in the early 2000s. Both shoes are signed. The ink from the signature appears to have bled slightly into the fabric of the shoe. The frame is approx 50 x 53cm
This item was purchased at a charity auction held in Canberra. Over the years, we supported many charities by attending fund raisers and purchasing memorabilia. Go to the About page for more information.
