Description
Elizabeth Alyse Cuthbert AC, MBE, was an Australian athlete and a four-time Olympic champion. She was nicknamed Australia’s “Golden Girl”. During her career, she set world records for 60 metres, 100 yards, 200 metres, 220 yards and 440 yards.
This is an original program from the 1958 Commonwealth Games held in Wales . This particular program was for Athletics on 24 July 1958. Based on the years we were going to charity auctions, she would have signed this in the early 2000s. The programme is extensively marked up with results from the race, presumably by the original owner. Betty competed on this day and her results are handwritten in the booklet. The frame is approx. 25 x 29cm
