Description
Bruce Carlyle Ruxton, AM, OBE was an Australian ex-serviceman and President of the Victorian Returned and Services League from 1979 to 2002. After his war service, he became a spokesman on behalf of war veterans and their families, ensuring they received their pensions and entitlements. As the Second World War veterans grew older, he lobbied on their behalf regarding issues such as nursing homes and retirement accommodation.
Bruce passed away in 2011 at age 85.
This flag is personally signed and dated by Bruce Ruxton 9-1-02. Some of the charities who conducted fund raising auctions wouldn’t have the time or funds to frame items they received. You can frame it yourself. A novel gift for someone who has an interest in military history and the history of the RSL.
This item was purchased at a charity auction held in Canberra. Over the years, we supported many charities by attending fund raisers and purchasing memorabilia. Go to the About page for more information.
