On September 25, 2000, it was elation on Bondi Beach when Kerri Pottharst and Natalie Cook won beach volleyball gold. Their decision to join forces was a controversial one, but they defied all who doubted them, beating the Brazilian World Champions for Olympic gold.
Natalie Louise Cook is an Australian professional beach volleyball player and Olympic gold medallist. She became the first Australian woman to compete at five Olympic Games.
Kerri Ann Pottharst OAM is an Australian former professional beach volleyball player and Olympic gold medallist. Pottharst was born in Adelaide, South Australia, and currently resides in Sydney. In addition to her previous volleyball commitments, Pottharst is an accomplished speaker, MC and presenter.
