Description
Timor-Leste became independent from Indonesia on 20 May 2002 and this first day envelope with stamps commemorates this day. It is signed by José Alexandre “Xanana” Gusmão who became President of Timor-Leste.
This first day envelope was personally signed by Xanana, likely in 2002. The frame is approx 27 x 22cm. There are some small scratches on the frame.
This item was purchased at a charity auction held in Canberra. Over the years, we supported many charities by attending fund raisers and purchasing memorabilia. Go to the About page for more information.
